Introducing Permissions
Permissions in Thrivea act as the core logic engine that defines what users can see and do within the workspace. Access is managed through two methods: Permission Groups for standardized roles and Employee Permissions for individual-level control when more precision is needed.
Navigation: Switching views
Use the tabs in the top-left of the Permissions dashboard to switch between views:
1. Permission Groups: Default view for managing roles at scale, where one set of rules applies to multiple users.

2. Employee Permissions: Individual-level view for reviewing or adjusting access per user when needed.

The dual-logic engine
Regardless of whether you use groups or individual settings, permissions are split into two categories:
1. Own Permissions (Permissions over Features): These are organized by platform modules and features (e.g., Communication, Time Off, Settings). They determine what actions a user can perform, with specific sub-settings available for every functional area.

2. Other Permissions (Permissions Over Others): These define whose data a user can see or edit. Access is managed at the field level (e.g., Salary, Department) and mapped to a specific scope of people or organizational units.
